History

The Institute for Language Education Program started with about ten members in November 2004 with the aim of reading literature mainly written in English concerning the field of language program studies.
(Refer to: "Teaser to Reading Language Program Studies" (PDF opens))

We do not widely call for new members due to convenience of venue, management, ability to have strong discussion on the contents, but its presence has spread by word of mouth and later we started implementing linguistic education program evaluation so in November 2006, we put in place the name of “Language Education Program Research Group” and put in place some a simple constitution such as membership qualification, divided people into roles, and also accepted people as members who can contribute to the society even if they cannot participate in the society.

Activities

Currently we have approximately 30 peope registered. The number of meeting participants is usually around 5 -10 people. We only have a few members who specialize in program evaluation, but we have these people introduce journal articles to us to use as study materials.

In principle, regular meetings are held once a month, almost every month except August.
At the time of Japanese Language Education Society Conferences, there are times when we hold an special meetings near the venue.
