  1. Learning and teaching of Japanese vocabulary
    Areas studied in Doctoral program(2009~2012)
    • Creating word lists based on corpus (Vocabulary database, Common Academic Word List, Literary Word list, etc.)
    • Comparison of vocabulary importance index (especially how to combine indices of dispersion and frequency)
    • Features of contemporary Japanese vocabulary by genre
    • Quantitative analysis of Chinese cognates of Japanese(written in the same or similar Kanji) included in Japanese high-frequency words
    • Creation of a character list based on the corpus (such as a Kanji list)
    • To what degree the Japanese vocabulary frequency match with the Kanji frequency
    • Is the Japanese vocabulary learning burden heavier than English

Introduction of Chinese Translators

Lately many low-quality items can be found in Chinese translation. This is because among the translation companies there are some where coordinators cannot speak Chinese, or those that do not use translation checkers. Furthermore it is said that many companies subcontract orders to cheap translators who live abroad who do not understand Japanese well.
